Some unpredictable collaborations are just meant to be. For example, Hailee Steinfeld and Alesso’s collab with Florida Georgia Line and watt titled ‘Let Me Go’.

Watt is the new name on that list – a guitarist from New York City who is best known in the industry’s inner circle for writing songs for Justin Bieber, DJ Snake, Avicii, Bebe Rexha, and most recently Kygo & Selena Gomez ‘It Ain’t Me’ and Camila Cabello’s ‘Havana’.

Hailee Steinfeld stopped by the Daly Download studio to detail how ‘Let Me Go’ came together, “Alesso and I have worked together before and watt is a friend. I met Florida Georgia Line around the time we were working on the song. During a commercial break at an award show, we were like, ‘We’re big fans of each other and the song is awesome. Let’s go for it.'”

So what’s it like for Hailee Steinfeld to work with so many people on one song?  Apparently not that much different than working on solo material, “It’s interesting because even if I release a song and I’m the only vocalist named on the track, it’s still a huge collaboration with the writers and producers. It’s always so much fun when you have a collaboration and you get to perform together at one time. It’s always an event, but I love solo music too. I love that I get to do both.”

Fans of Hailee Steinfeld’s music should know that she hasn’t stopped working on new solo material. “It’s been a matter of getting it all together under one title and releasing it. It’s hard to do when I’m in the middle of making movies, but when that is done will be when I figure all that out.”
