The 1975 have come a long way since we featured their single ‘The Sound’ as our Pick of the Week last year, and it looks like they’re ready to take their music to the next level.

Frontman Matt Healy used his acceptance speech for NME’s Album of the Year to tell the world, “If your music isn’t purposefully informative, then there’s no point it”. He wants The 1975’s next album to stand beside Radiohead’s ‘OK Computer’ and The Smith’s ‘The Queen Is Dead’ as an album that speaks to the current state of the word.

Although Matt tweeted out that the ‘I Like It When You Sleep…’ era is coming to an end, it doesn’t mean The 1975 are leaving us high and dry until the new material drops.

“Somebody Else” is their last single from ‘I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It’ and it’s Carson’s Pick of the Week.
